Our engineering professionals have the latest technology at their disposal. We use virtual reality modeling, simulation and design techniques to create our award-winning designs. Our customers demand sophisticated solutions, and we incorporate the latest in electronics to exceed their needs. 

At John Deere, engineers collaborate closely within a multifunctional team to develop and refine designs. This is a team environment, where every person’s work matters. You’ll interface with many departments, including quality management, manufacturing and marketing. We’re a global company, and assignments often include working with engineers in other countries such as Brazil, Germany, China, India, Australia, Spain and many more.

Engineering opportunities are not limited to traditional roles or functions. You may choose to specialize in product, manufacturing or quality engineering. Engineering Internships and Co-op Opportunities

Product Engineering responsibilities may include:

  • Test planning, data acquisition and data analysis
  • Creating, testing and updating software for equipment
  • Virtual analysis, physical testing, data acquisition and data processing
  • Product verification and validation
  • Developing design options and providing design concepts

Manufacturing Engineering responsibilities may include:

  • Providing support and basic troubleshooting
  • Implementing cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvements
  • Developing plans to support lean manufacturing
  • Implementing new manufacturing processes and technology
  • Completing projects to improve operations and the assembly process

Quality Engineering responsibilities may include:

  • Performing quality activities, such as print reviews, design process and assembly reviews, supplier visits and tooling reviews
  • Measuring process capability through Six Sigma
  • Planning, conducting and analyzing capability studies
  • Implementing a means to track data to improve systems

You must be pursuing a four-year degree or be a senior pursuing a master’s in Ag Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Weld Engineering or related technical degree, with a preferred GPA of 3.0/4.0.
