John Deere Golf Launches 220 E-Cut Hybrid Walk Greens Mower

Mower Offers Increased Fuel Savings And Innovative Features

CARY, North Carolina (February 05, 2009)— John Deere is proud to announce an addition to its walk greens mower line: the 220 E-Cut Hybrid Walk Greens Mower. This innovative piece of equipment incorporates the new Quick Adjust Cutting Units with the patented Speed Link system, delivering best-in-class contour following and quality of cut.

The 220 E-Cut offers an independent cutting unit attached to the mower's traction drive system that easily improves course appearance, thanks to its steering capability. This feature also results in less turf stress from clean-up passes. The mower's independent contouring head hugs the slightest undulations of the green, making it easier to achieve the perfect cut on any course. And thanks to the ball joint yoke design and electric drive motor, the cutting unit eliminates the need for a mechanical drive link. Combined, these features give the 220 E-Cut the largest range of movement in the industry.

"The 220 E-Cut is one of our first walk greens mowers to incorporate hybrid technology," said Gregg Breningmeyer, director of sales and marketing, John Deere Golf. "And with an innovative feature like the contouring head, superintendents can rest easier knowing that this mower can respond to the most demanding greens."

Standard on the 220 E-Cut is an adjustable frequency of clip that allows superintendents to quickly set the desired clip rate by simply adjusting a dial. On-board backlapping is another standard feature that makes servicing the cutting unit simple and convenient. This mower will be available the summer of 2009.
